About
About jauntsetter:
Jauntsetter is a travel site and free weekly e-newsletter aimed at New York travel-lovers. Issues come out every Wednesday, and include a detailed trip recommendation (which varies from local to international) based on first-hand experience; a short interview with an engaging, travel-loving New Yorker; and a well-researched, handpicked list of the very best travel deals of the week, as determined by our discerning editors.
While we've got an eye toward a New York audience, travelers from all over the world can (and do) find our content relevant and helpful. Our blog in particular features a constant round-up of the latest travel news and deals, including some jauntsetter-exclusive opportunities for savvy travelers.
Jauntsetter is the result of many individual efforts. Dozens of interesting New Yorkers have been interviewed for their thoughts, tips and taste regarding travel, and we are always looking for more tips, so please get in touch at suggestions {at} jauntsetter.com if you have suggestions for us, or think you have what it takes to be a Jauntsetter of the Week.
Editorial Policy:
Jauntsetter will occasionally accept complimentary trips courtesy of travel partners or tourism boards for destinations that are already on our editorial schedule. That said, jauntsetter is not obligated in any way to provide coverage for such trips or stays. Any resulting content will be clearly marked as "sponsored" material on our site.
Jauntsetter may also pay media rates at hotels for review purposes; any resulting reviews - again, not guaranteed - will make clear mention of said rates.
The Design:
Jauntsetter's aesthetic is the result of Ann Talley, the artist behind the jauntsetter logo and images, and The Barbarian Group, the hard-working designers of the site.
The Jauntsetter Team:

Dorothy McGivney started jauntsetter after leaving Google, where she worked for almost six years. After spending the better part of a year visiting destinations like Argentina, Japan, India, Nepal, Thailand and Cambodia, she decided to turn her online experience and passion for travel into jauntsetter.

Kate Thorman (kate.thorman{at}jauntsetter.com) joined jauntsetter upon moving to New York straight from Paris, hard on the heels of several years traveling around the world. Apart from traveling and writing, she loves food, making movies, talking about travel, and crashing motorbikes in Bali.
