A visit to our Trip Pick of the Week without exploring the Bourbon Trail would be a shame, and there's no lack of opinions or resources on the best way to structure trip to Kentucky's famous distilleries. Below, we've rounded up some of the most helpful articles and our favorite guides to help you decide how to best approach the line up of Louisville-area liquor.
If you only have one day, however, make sure you head out to Maker's Mark distillery. Not only does this well known bourbon maker allow you to do tasting and give you a tour, but it will also let you hand dip your own bottle in their trademark bright red wax seal.
We've also heard good things about the nearby restaurant the Old Talbott Tavern, which is located in Bardstown, a nice Kentucky town with a fun little Main Street (and a store called Liquor World that carries over 160 different types of Bourbon).
Enjoy, and safe tastings.
